Initial Study for City Ventures La Habra Civic Center Infill Housing Project: City Ventures is proposing development of for-sale homes, on either of two potential development sites in the City of La Habra Civic Center area, and the City of La Habra is proposing to relocate City Hall. The Planning Department now provides a listing of pending development projects which require discretionary permits from the Planning Commission and or City Council. The list is updated monthly.
Copies of the Planning Commission Agenda and Minutes are available online on the Agendas & Minutes webpage. Planning Commission meetings are held every second and fourth Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers.

- La Habra Active Day Camp Set to Begin
Summer vacation is fast approaching, and that means fun, new friends, and exciting adventures! Sign up your child for La Habra Active, a 10-week summer day camp. La Habra Active is designed to give kids ages four to 12 an active and fun experience in a safe environment, while exploring and enjoying new experiences, all at a very reasonable price. New this year are special interest camps. Day Camp begins Monday, June 15th and ends Friday, August 14th.
- La Habra Welcomes Fire Service Day
On Saturday, May 30th, from 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p..m., the Los Angeles County Fire Department will bring an assortment of firefighting equipment and conduct fire safety emergency demonstrations at the La Habra Community Center, 101 W. La Habra Blvd.
- FREE Movies in the Park Program Debuts April 17th
La Habra introduces one of its new Family Hangtime events, Movies in the Park, on Friday, April 17th at Brio Park, 300 S. Euclid St. The movie, Planes: Fire & Rescue, will begin at dusk. This event is FREE.
- City to Host Special Olympics World Games Participants
Every two years, the world transcends boundaries of geography, nationality, political philosophy, gender, age, culture and religion to come together for the largest sporting and humanitarian event on the planet, the Special Olympics World Games. This year's World Games will take place in Los Angeles and will be the largest event that city has hosted since the 1984 Olympics Games.
- Support the City's Adopted Military Unit
The City is seeking donations for its adopted military unit, Charlie Company, 426th Brigade Support Battalion, 101st Airborne Division, currently on a nine-month deployment. The Move More, Eat Healthy La Habra Campaign recognizes that healthy eating and regular physical activity are key ingredients to good health at any age. They may lower your risk for heart disease, obesity, type 2 diabetes, cancer and other chronic diseases. Our goal is to create a healthy La Habra where all residents have opportunities to be physically active, access to reliable nutrition education and healthy, affordable foods where all residents can prosper.

WARNING: Flea-borne Typhus has been detected in La Habra and other parts of Orange County.
Fleas found on cats, dogs, raccoons, and opossums can carry the bacterium that causes flea-borne Typhus in humans.

The La Habra Police Department is proud to offer the Citizens' Police Academy to local residents. Designed to increase the understanding of the Police Department's operations, the Academy is conducted, twice annually, over a six-week period.
