SAVE-the-DATE for the Annual LA HABRA VETERANS DAY EVENT!

To celebrate La Habra's designation as a Purple Heart City, businesses and surrounding communities are invited to the City's annual LA HABRA VETERANS DAY EVENT on Tuesday, November 11, 2014.  Chartered by Congress in 1958, the Military Order of the Purple Heart is composed of military men and women who received the Purple Heart Medal for wounds suffered in combat.  In addition to its focus on Purple Heart recipients, this year's event will also focus on the Korean War.  If you are a veteran who was awarded the Purple Heart, please contact the Community Center at 562-383-4200 so we can recognize you at the event.  Additional information on the event is also available at that number.

This is a FREE event. 
Location: La Habra Community Center, 101 W. La Habra Blvd.
Breakfast is from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
Program begins at 11:00 a.m.

  • Development Projects List

    The Planning Department now provides a listing of pending development projects which require discretionary permits from the Planning Commission and or City Council. The list is updated monthly.

    Copies of the Planning Commission Agenda and Minutes are available online on the Agendas & Minutes webpage. Planning Commission meetings are held every second and fourth Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers.

  • 18th Annual Inner Coastal & Watershed Cleanup Day

    The City of La Habra will once again be participating in the Inner Coastal & Watershed Cleanup Day.  This year the event will be on Saturday, September 20, 2014, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.   • San Miguel Park Renovation Scheduled

    San Miguel de Park, 981 N Euclid Street, is scheduled for a makeover on Monday, September 29th.  The City received a grant from Kaboom!, a non-profit organization committed to building a playground within walking distance of every child in America.  Disney and the Institute for Healthcare Advancement are collaborating with the City on the build.  This is the fifth Kaboom! project for a City park.

  • Community Health Fair & Flu Shots Slated

    On Thursday, October 27, 2014, the La Habra Community Services Department will hold its annual Community Health Fair.  The event will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the La Habra Community Center, 101 W. La Habra Blvd.  There will be a variety of free health screenings available, as well as free flu shots for all ages.

    Fleas found on cats, dogs, raccoons, and opossums can carry the bacterium that causes flea-borne Typhus in humans.

  • La Habra Goes to College

    Does the college application process seem intimidating and complicated?  On Sunday, October 12, 2014, Advance! and the city of La Habra will host their annual "La Habra Goes To College" event to promote education beyond high school for local students and their families. Advance has  assisted over 2000 students get to college. During the event, services will be provided to help them with financial aid, college applications, college programs, and college resources.
